I live in the South, so the ACT is really emphasized. I’ll probably be attending a Northeastern school, though, so I’ve spent a lot of time preparing for the SAT, but my school mostly focuses on ACT. (In my class of about 900…I only know of two other people who are/have taken the SAT…that’s how ACT-centered we are…)

Anyways, I currently have a SAT score of 2310 (800 - CR, 760 - W, 750 - M) from the June testing, and I’m not sure whether to take the ACT. Supposedly, a 1550 on the SAT M + Cr corresponds to an ACT score of 35 ([ACT-SAT Concordance](http://www.act.org/aap/concordance/index.html)). I remember my older sister, though, scored a 2340 on the SAT…and then made a 28 on the ACT; I’m not really sure what happened.

Do you guys think it’s a good idea to take the ACT? I’m afraid it’ll hurt me if my actual ACT score is much lower than my projected one.

Also, my SAT score comes from the end of my sophomore year. There’s a possibility I somehow have greater “aptitude” now, and so will do better on the SAT/ACT. At the same time, though, I’m super busy now (eh…IB is more or less killing me), so I won’t have much time to prepare for the ACT outside of what we already do in school.

Thanks in advance. =)
