How am I doing so far?

Ok so im a freshman at an international school in the uk. I changed from the english system into the american system and found this year really hard adjusting to constant testing and the gpa system.

I havent had finals yet (they start in two days) and i havnt had all grades back so i’ll give estimates for this semester. I also feel like I should be in a MUCH higher maths class, perhaps algebra 2 trig, so im doubling up next year and then going to take a maths course in the summer. Im taking ap cs next year, chem b (cuz of the ap, but ill probably move to chem a), french 4, geometry and algebra 2.

What kind of collages should i be ok getting into…what kind of collages, if i work my but off could i get into? Im new to this all by the way :P. Also my school doesnt let sophomores take ap’s so im one of few doing that.

Music: guitar for 4 years, in a band, played at battle of the bands and other shows and gigs outside of school.

Art: Have done lots of art outside school including graffiti.

Sport: Did some rugby preseason, but had to give it up for robotics. Really into weight lifting and nutrition and have gone to the gym etc after school (I also have an internship at a gym). I also did karate for 4 years and got a black belt. I also used to fence for my old school and competed in numerous competitions. I did LOADES of sports at my old school aswell.

Community service: Iv taught at my synagogue all of this year, i also help out there and plan stuff.

Tech stuff: Iv built many websites and done numerous free lancing programming. I finished this semester an ai program that i did for my programming class instead of the normal curriculum cuz i was too advance. The ai program was collage level stuff. I also went to stanford last summer with a camp to study computer science. I have also helped maintain a website for a choir and built some sites for my synagogue. Im also helping out building a website for PE in my school.

Summer: this summer i have an internship in a catering company where i will help in the kitchens and even go to an event and work there. I also have a job at the end of the summer in a gym. I’ll be coding some stuff for them and also working in the gym.

Clubs: I did robotics preseason and robotics season. i was the only freshman on the programming team and electronics team in robotics and 1 of 20 kids to travel to the international robotics competition we competed in.

bump…
bump…
bump…

Looks like you’re on the track to get into just about any college you want… Try getting those grades up to all A’s (or A-'s at least) and maybe try for some leadership positions. Your tech and robotics stuff looks impressive, keep building on that. Just do whatever you like to do
(PS: College is spelled with two e’s, not an a)
Out of curiosity, what kind of programming do you do? What languages do you work with?

thanks! Haha i know, i just rushed it and didnt care about spelling or grammar. Im busy revising :P.

I program in java, ruby on rails, css, html, javascript, vb, basicx, php, sql and applescript. Im interested in AI, web development and anything to do with coding a mcu :P. Why do you ask? Are you interested in that stuff aswell?

The colleges i like so far are Cambridge university (a uk uni), stanford (probably a bit of a reach :P), NYU and UCB.

Yes, I’m interested in programming, and I’m also in the 9th grade. I haven’t touched any programming tools in a long time though :frowning: school really takes up a lot of time.

Good luck! I think you’ll have a fair chance at all of those schools! :)

wow thanks.
You should dude, programming is a great skill. Good luck with your stuff
