My daughter applied to Harvard. She had an interview which she felt went well.

So when will kids be notified? and how (via email or snail mail)? and are financial aide letters sent out at the same time?

Thanks

Your daughter will be notified on March 29, 5 pm EST by email if she signed up for that. She will also receive a letter (or package); if she is admitted, a financial aid offer will be included in the welcome package.

my son will be graduating this year from Harvard. 4 years ago, he was notified via email at approx. 2:00 pm (California time). a formal packet will arrive within the week after notification. Good luck!

I think it’s weird that they haven’t gone to portal sign ins yet as most schools do

I think email is a better system. For EA, Yale’s portal crashed. It took me about ten minutes to see my decision. It was brutal. Sending decisions via email should avoid that problem.

^Not always, unfortunately. For Michigan EA, they sent out emails over 3 days which made it horrible for the later ones. And for some reason you received your email two hours after it was sent. For example, mine was time stamped at 9:30 PM (supposed to go out at 5) and I didn’t receive it until 11:30 PM. Hopefully Harvard will be better!

Yale did crash, but it wasn’t as long as some people wait for the email to get to them, sadly.

You can always just check the admitted students website - much faster than email.

I didn’t know that existed. I may have to do that.

Sent from my SPH-D710 using CC

How does that work? You can tell if you were admitted by whether or not you can log in?

yes! you can check it here- [Harvard College Admissions § Application Status Login](http://collegeadmissions.fas.harvard.edu/admitted/login.cgi) all the best!

@esney not necessarily. Last year, I didn’t find out about my acceptance until 5 hours after they were emailed

Hmmm I guess in theory you would be able to tell if you were accepted by logging in but the site itself said “Please note: This site does not provide admissions decisions. It is a portal with information for admitted students only. If you requested an email decision, it will be sent to the email address on file.”

Sooooo…I don’t know.

It’s true that the admitted students’ website doesn’t “provide admissions decisions”, but… it does let people know whether or not they were accepted.
My friend successfully logged in a little after SCEA decisions came out, because she couldn’t wait for the email…

Has anybody who applied RD successfully logged in?

@DrumMajor:
Anyone who says “yes” is lying. Decisions will not come out until the 29th of March, as much as you’d like to wish otherwise.

Phew.
Ok good. I couldnt log in and it was freaking me out.

Since this is an admitted students log in, if you can’t log in after March 29th, you’re pretty much rejected? This is, of course, assuming the email doesn’t come first.

Rejected or waitlisted, yeah…

That’s really nice of Harvard. :p
