How are all these girls roaming my boys’ dorm floor every night? They ain’t busy?

Basically every night (including on school nights) they’re about 5-6 girls that are roaming our floor. My question is – aren’t they busy? Don’t they have math/finance/accounting problem sets to do? Don’t they have books to read? Papers to write? Tests and quizzes to study for?

I simply don’t get it. It baffles me sometimes.

Are these the same kids that makeup the 35% of college dropouts?

They must be the Consumer and Family Studies Majors

Or communication majors.

Although, it is still early in the semester so maybe they are not bombarded with school work just yet. Wait til midterm and final exams. Nowhere to be found :)

Are these the same kids that makeup the 35% of college dropouts? ~ Onhctum

Why are you complaining about this?

Instead of posting about them, you should be talking to them.

You have found a quick identification process for the 35% - or 44% or 25% depending on school.

I ain’t complaining. I was just wondering since I’m always busy as hell. I don’t understand how they have so much free time.

thennn ask them!
that solves two problems–
you not knowing why, and you not talking to them

Maybe they are insanely efficient.

Finance and accounting are easy along with lower division math. If they are doing upper division hardcore quantitative majors, maybe they are just simply brilliant.

maybe they’re the Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management majors

THIS. Now’s a really good time to just randomly open a conversation with a pretty girl.

Tell them to stop wandering and go back to the kitchen.

Oh, they’re busy alright.

Those girls are probably in an easy major, and they go onto the guys’ floor simply to get attention from guys. Duh.

which school?

You do realize that the only time you ever see them is when you’re also on his floor, right?

Or maybe they have friends on that floor, and prioritize their homework during the day so they have time at night to hang out with the aforementioned guys? Just a thought. Because that’s what I and all of my (girl)friends do, and we’re all engineers.

That is until finals time anyways. Then I remove myself from society basically.

Unless you’re at a top-15 school, you shouldn’t be surprised. Most college students don’t give a damn about academics.

Maybe they are smarter than you so don’t need to study as much?

Guess what, unless you’re majoring in mathematics, engineering, or physics you should have insane amounts of free time especially in your freshman year. Everyone on my floor was constantly hanging out all hours of the day usually until around 4am most being Biology, Media and Communications, and CompSci majors but a few were education and business majors as well.

The only two people who studied religiously were two girls, one who was pre-pharmacy, and the other a Biology major who wanted to get her PhD. Next to these girls who I can only assume must have 4.0’s(if they don’t they’re doing it wrong, I’ve taken all the bio classes they have) me and the resident daily stoners of the floor held the highest GPAs. The stoners were MechE and Chemistry majors and were also the heaviest drinkers.
