<p>I recieved two grants for Fall 2010 and Spring 2011 at UCONN. I was wondering how CT Aid Public Col Stdnt Grant Grant Undergraduate and Tuition Remission Grant UG I/S Grant Undergraduate are paid out. Do they get diretly applied to your tuition or are they sent to the student?</p>
<p>I don’t know about those specific grants but all the grants my kids have (including State grants) were paid directly to the school. If there was any money left from scholarships/grants/loans after the schools direct expenses were paid (tuition&fees, room and board when they lived on campus) then the balance was paid to the student by the school.</p>
<p>S has some grants from outside sources that do not arrive before the payment date. However, the college will make a note and I only pay the balance so long as I notify the college in advance. I would think most schools would do something similar.</p>
