How are my chances looking?

So the first time a took the SAT i was in 10th grade and so nervous I almost threw up. I got a 1460. Now I’m going into my senior year and just found out I got a 1670 (all 3) on the June 1st SAT. I’m pretty annoyed by this score considering I scored a 1780 on the last practice test I took in a practice course, but it is what it is. I want to take it again in October, but do I really have to? I’m not looking to go into an Ivy league school or anything, I just want to go to a state school. I’m good at school, but I can’t get the hang of the SAT. I have friends who get much higher sat scores than me while I get much higher scores than them in school. My GPA freshman year was a 92.9, sophomore year a 97.7, and junior year a 104.5. I take challenging classes (I got a 95, not weighted, in pre calc/honors chem) and I’m taking a few AP classes next year (Calc/History). I want to know what my chances are with schools like: TCNJ, Monmouth University, Rutgers University, and Rowan University. I’m also interested in majoring in either political science or history.

Did you try ACT?

No, but I’ve been told to try it. I don’t exactly know what the ACT is.

Try the ACT, it’s a bit more straightforward. It has these sections in order:
English - Mechanics, sentence corrections, things like that. 75 questions 45 min.
Math - Ranges from pre-Algebra to some trig. 60 questions 60 min.
Reading - Reading comprehension with prose fiction, social studies, humanities, and science passages. 40 questions 35 min.
Science - Questions about experimental data, research, and contrasting viewpoint passages. 40 questions 35 min.

There’s also an optional essay portion, which some schools require, that is 30 minutes.

Is is worth it? Or can I work with the SAT score I have now for the schools I want to go to?

If yo do better in school but not too well on SAT, you should definitely try ACT.

Alright I’ll sign up for the next one. Thanks for the advice!
