your standarized score. SAT II 630 is great for most colleges, but not for HYP. If you can pull it up to 720+, you would have some chance. Also try to pull up your ACT’s a little more, maybe 34-35. I would also try to write an essay about debate/mock trial since I think that’s what you like (from what I see). Just be reminded that debate and mock trial are two most common EC’s of HYP applicants, so you’re going to have to be really good. As of right now, you have little chance. If you can work out SAT’s and EC’s, you might have some decent chance.

um, obviously the OP is “really good” at debate – semifinals at nationals? That’s good. Obviously, Yale is mostly a crapshoot, but i think you stand a good shot. Good luck!!!

Is your GPA weighted or unweighted? 3.94 seems a bit low…no offense

thanx for the info. i may just not send my sat II lit test. also, i’m writing about young moderates, because i know only one other person (and he’s not applying to yale) has that. also, im playing up the music a lot. i know a lot of people do music, but not many do percussion or are drum majors…i would think.
fyi, my gpa is unweighted

3.94 UW is not low

skittels, first off, your GPA is NOT LOW. Second, you don’t have to submit SAT II’s when you apply to Yale so if I were you, I would jsut submit the ACT since it’s more than competitive enough. Whehter you get in or not will depend a lot on the subjective stuff like how you come across on your personal essays and how your teachers portray you in your teacher recs. Good luck!!!
