These are my planned ECs to have completed by the time I graduate. How are they? What could I improve?

Legislative debate(Captain)
Editor for a couple of literary journals
Founder of a literary journal
Publishing fiction and poetry(nothing major)
Book published
Jazz band/pep band/marching band(Trumpet)
Writing Academic(ish) Papers (philosophy, history, book reviews)
Editor for School Newspaper
Hard to tell without knowing more specifics, e.g. which ones you really invested your time in, or which ones (if any) you have won any major awards or honors in.
It seems like they are mostly English/Literature based. Is that what you intend to study? HYPS like to see passion in your ECs; ie if you’re a STEM applicant, they want to see STEM related ECs as well as other things.
There is no way for anyone to judge this because you have simply listed them and not explained anything. The schools are interested in your accomplishments not your memberships. What did you accomplish? What does “book published” mean, for example. Did you write a book published by a major distributor? What do you mean by “writing academic papers” Explain the accomplishments if you want worthwhile comments.
