How are the chairs at MIT? Are they too soft to sit on?

I just woke up this morning, and I’m really concerned about something…
Are the chairs in the MIT lecture rooms “hard” to sit on? Or are they “soft”? I’m afraid the chairs are too soft… thereby inducing sleep.

Does anyone know?

the ones I saw were pretty hard-looking.

Good. do you know if they press really hard against your “cheeks” when you sit?

Is this for real??? -_-

lol…

I was actually wondering the same thing, more because I was wondering if I should buy a spinny office chair for more comfort/entertainment during the hours and hours and hours I’ll inevitably spend doing homework at my desk.

The right type for the chairs is really important for me. If it’s too soft, i’ll fall asleep. If it’s too hard, i’ll fee uncomfortable. It’s all about the “right match” :)

MITChris is a lolzer. That’s a good thing.

^ would it pizz anyone off if I rickroll admin officers on the app? :D

ehhhhhhhh probably not but most wouldn’t get it.

^ that’s surprising… considering most MIT students prolly would.
Are admin officiers at MIT usually MIT grads?

I just had to click on this thread. Most students choose a school based on “fit” but I’ve never heard of one choosing due to “chair fit!” This is a joke, right?

Well I’m not basing my decision entirely on the chairs. Honestly if it really bothers me that much, I can probably arrange to bring my own chair to class everyday.
But it’s just one of these things that really bothers me. With the right “softness” of chair, I could listen to people talking for HOURS AND HOURS without falling asleep. Like I said, i’m not basing everything on chair. If i really need to, i can probably find a way around it.

It’s MIT. Design a better chair.

It’s a chair. Design it better MIT.

The chairs in 26-100 and 54-100 are too hard. The chairs in 10-250 are too soft.

Until all the GIRs are scheduled to be held in 32-123, you have no future here.

idk but look at the google images they look prity soft

MITChris you need to stop it with that specific animated GIF. It’s getting old.

Oh yeah, back to OP’s question.

If there’s anything I learned at MIT, it’s that I have now mastered the art of being able to sleep on any chair, regardless of how uncomfortable it is. It’s a skill desired by many, but acquired by few. ; )

That’s exactly what I’m trying to avoid :D

so this is what biology majors learn… ^^ :)
