I just received my first quarter senior year grades. They are:
APLit- 81
Pre Calc Honors-88
Spanish 4 Honors-94
Economics Honors-94
Human Biology- 99
AP Music- 96
AP Psychology- 90
Will the 81 and 88 hurt my chances or scholarship money chances? I have very good grades throughout sophomore and junior year. I only got one B sophomore year, one B junior year and two B’s freshman year. All my other grades were A’s. I know colleges also take senior year into consideration because of “senioritis”.
I am looking at Syracuse, Gettysburg, Fordham, American, Villanova, Ithaca and Siena.
I don’t think you’ll have any trouble getting into Fordham, Villanova or Ithica with those grades.
Villanova might be tricky but if you have good extracurriculars, a good SAT score and a solid GPA from your first three years to balance it out I don’t think it should be a problem.
Is AP Lit giving you trouble?
Yea my teacher is very hard. English is usually my best subject but she grades differently and the in depth multiple choice questions usually get me. I’m trying to get it up for quarter 2 though. I would consistently get 80’s on tests and quizzes for this quarter lol.
I think you’re fine. You still have mostly A’s and colleges understand that first semester senior year is a super busy time with college apps and all that. While it may not help your chances, I don’t think it will decrease them either.
