How are you placed into Math classes?

Say the school uses ACT scores to determine your Math placement. Any idea as to what ACT score yields what Math class?

The College Board uses a “college readiness” benchmark, which I believe is 22 for math. I don’t usually see colleges (or even high schools) use ACT scores for math placement. For colleges, you’ll most likely be taking calculus or higher in undergraduate years, in which the ACT score is practically meaningless. Schools will most likely use AP exams, placement tests, and grades in previous courses for math placement.

Depending on your major of course. Many of the current teachers @ my school now (highschool) never took Calc 101 in college.

They can use the ACT math score to ensure they don’t need remedial courses

(if you score an 18 in math it’s safe to say you suck at algebra)
