How awful-- John Travolta's son dies at 16

First of all, the initial link I posted is fone-- NO VIRUS. We have very tight antivirus protection on our computers ( my H is in the computer industry) and that link is fine.

Second, from my understanding,Travolta’s son had consequences of Kawasaki’s disease (contracted at age 2), which can cause neurological impairment. There can be smptom overlap betweent the syndromes, and since the Kawasaki’s reportedly occurred at about the age Autsim would be evident to parents, its hard to know whats what. As others have said, he apparently had a seizure disorder that preexisted yesterdays fall and tragic consequence. I am terribly sorry for the family. Travolta blamed himself (in an interview with Larry King) for possibly exposing his son to toxic cleaning fumes as a child (from “overzealous” cleaning and disinfecting). He (Travolta) must be really struggling right now.

Ahhh… I have been doign a little more reading. It is difficult to know what the causes of Jett’s developmental delays were for sure. But, if Jett had a known seizure disorder and the Travolta’s refused medication do to their religious beliefs… that doesn’'t sit well with me. It doesn’t lesen the tragedy of the situation, but it is troublesome to me.

the thing that doesn’t sit well with me is that he was found 12 hours after he was last seen?? That seems odd, especially for a special needs kid (because that is a term I feel best describes him)

I think there are conflicting reports about how long he was left before his body was discovered. I’m sure there will be quite an investigation. The entire incident is so tragic and I, too, wonder about their refusal (if any) to treat him if he indeed did have a seizure disorder. It is so hard to understand how a parent could put their child at risk for a certain religious belief. I hope, for the Travolta’s sake, the autopsy does not indicate any negligance on their part.

it will be obvious during the autopsy how long he had been dead when authorities were called. Maybe even be able to tell what medications were in his system (I would think that seizure medicine is taken every day)
