In order to clear space on my schedule for AP Human Geo(I’m not slacking off my taking this class, I am truly interested in this class) I had to take out AP Eng. Language and Comp. Too make up for the loss, I dual enrolled Enc1101, or english comp 1, at my community college. Thinking months in advance to my senior year, I want to take AP French which will require me to drop AP Eng. Lit and Comp. To make up for this loss I was thinking of dual enrolling again at my community college for english composition 2. Would colleges look down on taking dual enrollment instead of ap provided im replacing it with a difficult ap in school? Thanks!

Nope! Not taking an AP class will not hurt your chances of admissions at most colleges, especially since you’re still doing other college English courses and replacing the AP English courses with classes you’re truly interested in. I think it was a really good decision on your part, actually. Good luck in your new classes. :)

Colleges might not like that you are not taking core classes available at your school. It would be better to take AP English and if you are interested in human geography take it at your community college.
