How bad is a B?

Hello everyone, so I’m a freshman and I might get a B 3rd quarter in my geometry honors class. How would this affect my chances of getting into my dream schools, the service academies (USNA, USMA, etc.)? I have A’s in every other subject for past quarters, including previous quarters in geometry honors.

I know grades aren’t everything, but I’m likely going to fulfill their athletics “preference” (basically a requirement) and most other stuff. But from an academic standpoint, how bad is this?

You’re a freshman in high school? A B won’t kill anything.

As long as you keep your GPA around 3.75, you should be fine. Additionally, the service academies will prefer you get Bs in more advanced classes than As in classes that will be easy.
