my friend has a 3.57 , quite low. But my counselor explained that there was a drop in her grades due to her grandfathers death, and many kids from my school died in a time of 1 year.

she sat is high{2200} and she have extracurriculars, and a few APs

god damnit… I mean I try to give public schools a good reputation. I try to act decent, I stop bad rumors or stereotypes when I hear them anf generally do everything I can to keep snooty private school kids and parents off my ass… and then u have to go and do that

Ouch against the publics. My D had full rides for some very high end private high schools (25K a year) and we chose public. She and several of her classmates now have the stats to be competitive at Ivies. Last years Val went to Yale on a full ride! How many private schools have Calc 3 & Calc 4 classes in their high school that are full like our public? We have our share of NMF and she made great friends too. The opportunities are there at some publics we have 19 AP’s, great music, sports, art and drama. Plus they pay for dual enrollment. Great caring teachers too. It all depends on the public.

I go to a top public HS in NJ but my GPA is low due to a very poor freshman year (3.3). I have a huge upward trend including a 4.0 this year but my SAT is a bit low for mich as well (1930). I think my essays were quite good but I really want to get in but dont think i have any chance
