How bad is GPA vasilation?

<p>So my frosh GPA was a 3.4…then Sophomore year I got 3.85 (yeah boy im in the ivies right?..no) now after my junior year…while i still have the potencial to get around a 3.7 i could get as low as a 3.45 </p>

<p>how bad does that look? I havnt slacked off…i take good classes and have good SAT/SAT2 scores but because of bad days at all the wrong moments (finals were a serese of freeze ups and I actually failed one test in spanish which cost me the A+ for the year) i might have bad grades this year</p>

<p>am i screwed…i was really hoping an upward trend to define me and to minimize my bad grades freshman year (i was slow to realize that stuff mattered)</p>

<p>Is your high school competitive? What are your SAT (I and II) scores? What classes are you taking and what exactly are you getting in them? Any extenuating circumstances (family death, lots of ECs, demanding job)?</p>
