How bad of a mistake in my app?

I completely forgot to mention that I’m in Student Government and that I’ve been on the Yearbook staff for 3 years and now I’m an editor in my activity summary. For me, these are key leadership positions to show.

My transcript does show evidence of both and my yearbook advisor wrote a long rec about me being a part of the staff and an editor. Also, when I wrote something in the optional box, it mentions the fact that I’m in Student Government.

I know that they’ll see those things throughout my app, but does it look really bad that I didn’t mention them in my activity summary??

Somebody should reassure me… I feel like an idiot ahhhhh

Also, did anyone get an answer about the fact that the activity summary font was huuuuge?

Trojan, can contact your USC admissions rep and ask him/her to add these to your summary. My son left out some important items and did this last year.

Trojanlax04,

Yes, these are important things to have left out of your app. USC looks for kids with leadership experience and you don’t want to make them search your app to find it. As mentioned above, contact Admissions and ask to add this to your application. If you live in the area I would drive over and do it in person as soon as possible.

Best,
Wheaty

But don’t just contact Admissions! Contact the USC admissions counselor for your school. This is also the first person to read your application, and a good person to have a bit of contact with. After his acceptance, when my son saw his admissions counselor at Explore, she mentioned their few email exchanges. These reps are a notch above those who answer the phone in admissions. Driving over is not a bad idea either. Make a new activities summary or an addendum, either way.

I’m confused! I told the records secretary to mail my transcript but USC says they received it via fax, however, my teacher faxed her recommendation and it has not been processed to my knowledge. I hope I made the deadline.
