I got a C+ in Physcis and I want to major in Poli Sci. I have all A’s and B’s besides a C freshman year. I have a 1200 SAT and am applying RD to BU. I have above averagtes Essays, REcs, and EC’s. My UW GPA with the C+ is 3.65. How bad will this lokk and how will it affect me??

Depends on the school…
What your previous record for sciences course was…
If you recieve quarter grades, what did you drop from? A to a C+?

It wont affect you too bad at BU, it not like other schools such as Amherst or Wesleyan where a slight senior drop in grades can ill-fate a good application.

I would say, regular decision, it just means make everything else on that application even better. It is nothingthat will ruin you, but I would polish that essay and draft is to perfection. And I’d pull all possible reccomendation writers in, maybe from a past science teacher. But really, you just need to make a solid application that makes up for any spots, and this is not a huge spot to fill. Don’t sweat too much.

I dont think it really matters… I have like 3 Cs and I’m still considering BU hahaa

plus, it’s a physics class, which isn’t too bad for a polisci major… as long as u make it clear taht ur very interested in social science oriented disciplines

I got a D in trig and i still go tinto every school i applied to last year

Dude, I got like 3 or 4 D’s throughout High School. Don’t worry about it. I doubt they are gonna look at a C when they have to go over THOUSANDS of Applications.

What schools did you end up going to Kimmie and Joey?

I got into Penn State. I had an overally 3.5 GPA and a 1270 SAT.

I took the toughest Classes Offered. and my only D’s were in a very tough academic Chemistry and Trig/Pre-calc.

If you got A’s and B’s in everything else, I think you should be OK, but you already know that that your SAT isn’t the Average. AT Princeton review is says the average is a 1300. But with Good EC’s, maybe you’ll get in.

I wish you the best of Luck.

I got in about a month ago BTW, so that’s where I’ll be going NEXT year. (didn’t want you to get me confused with kimmie) :)
