How bad would chances getting into a school like northwestern be if i took foods?

hi guys! I’m asian, 4.2 gpa. :(

so im deciding on my senior schedule…
and this is what it’s currently:

First semester: gym, ap chinese, enr essay writing, adv chem, ap stats, consumer economics, lunch, and orchestra
Second semester: gym, ap chinese, humanities (honors), ap stats, lunch, orchestra, greenhouse, and senior foods.

(consumer economics is required for my school and im doing orchestra because im concertmaster and i like a relaxing period)

So, this is my dilemma. Should I change greenhouse and senior foods for a more “harder” class?
I’m doing greenhouse and senior foods to satisfy my one year business/family consumer sciences/tech credit. I REALLY want to take those two classes, but I’m not sure how turned off if colleges see I took these two classes on my last semester of high school.

So, do colleges really care that I’m taking these two “blowoff/fun” classes? My other options are research and design or computer repair/A+ certification. And if colleges really hate that I’m taking two blowoff classes which class (research design or computer repair) should i take? I’m not sure what colleges would like more and which is more practical/useful?

I’m thinking of an chemical/biochem engineer/business major for college?

I hope I get into a school like Northwestern Univ. but I guess more realistically a school like University of Illinois Champaign.

“I’m doing greenhouse and senior foods to satisfy my one year business/family consumer sciences/tech credit.”

That is exactly what they will take them for. If anything, they will wonder why you let a graduation requirement like that wait until your last year of HS.

Don’t worry about this one.

Hey thanks!
But will they know I’ll taking greenhouse and foods because of the graduation requirement? or will i have to explain in my application? And I guess I’m doing these requirements senior year cuz senior foods is offered only for seniors and greenhouse idk =p

Ask your guidance counselor about that. It might be something that shows up in the school profile that will go to the colleges along with your transcript.
