Scale of 1-10, rate the following short answer to an activity.

I have played soccer competitively through my entire life. However, my love and commitment for the game has greatly evolved over time. As I became an increasingly dedicated and competitive soccer player, the time commitment involved increased as well. Throughout high school, I played about four times a week. While I had to make many sacrifices to remain on both of my soccer teams, it was completely worth it because of the companionship and sense of fulfillment I gained from the teams.

Bad, because it’s too general. If this is common app, then the number of hours that you dedicate to an activity is already listed elsewhere on your application. (If not, then be much more specific about the hours, because I can interpret this as you played soccer for four minutes a day for four days a week, which is not that dedicated at all.) Besides, I have a feeling that everyone who plays a sport made sacrifices to stay on the team and are self proclaimed as “dedicated”. I’m sure everyone can enjoy any sport (or any other EC for that matter) for the “companionship” and the “sense of fulfillment”. After all, what are actually the sacrifices that you made? How did soccer add to your sense of fulfillment? How were your teammates’ companionship valuable? You can be much more specific while using almost the same number of words. Throw in more details. Good luck!:)
