How can a person who is bad at taking tests do well on the SAT/ACT/SAT II's?

Hello,
I was wondering what methods you recommend me taking in order to do well on the SAT/ACT/SAT II’s. Should I get a tutor or do a TEST PREP session? Should I buy certain books and just practice the tests in those books this summer?
I really appreciate the feedback :)

I’ve heard mixed reviews on test prep classes. For SAT, I would say buy the blue book and do the practice tests. Then, review what you got wrong and why you got it wrong and find out why the answer is the correct answer. Similar for subject tests. Haven’t taken ACT, so not too sure about them.

This is very helpful I will make sure to buy the blue book and also buy subject test books online. @krpoltax

I’d recommend a tutor tbh. Said tutor would probably have experience with helping students who struggle with time constraints(I’m assuming that’s your problem) and would be able to give you tips on how to effectively attack the test.

Also I’d recommend ACT over SAT(granted I’ve only taken the PSAT, but the ACT seems better suited for people that struggle with time).

Look through the threads to see which subject test books are the best. There’s some post on here about it. Good luck studying :)

Okay that helps a lot. I am definitely hoping I do well on the ACT. @QuadMaster

@krpoltax thank you for all your help! This means a lot to me.

@SATsniper720 thanks!

If you don’t know the answer, try to identify the options you know cannot be correct. Even if you can only eliminate one option, you have improved your chances at guessing correctly.

Okay that’s very true thank you! @prezbucky
