How can I apply for a double degree at UB

Hi, I’m currently a Freshman at UB :)

According to the course catalog from last year, it doesn’t really matter because most students apply to their specific academic programs in their sophomore years; however, for the College of Engineering there may be direct admission to their programs. From that information, it might be smarter to put the CS on your application as your intended major because you wouldn’t be able to declare your English major for a while anyway, it would just be an intended major. If you are in the honors college, you have to talk to your adviser before school even starts for a half hour advising session on the phone where you would be able to tell them that you are planning on this double degree and they will help you put that plan together.

You apply to UB as a whole, but the College of Engineering often does take a second look at your application to make sure you are suited for the higher level math and science and such before accepting you into that major.

If you come in with a lot of AP or transfer credit, it should definitely be doable. If not, it just might require a bit more planning than most people put into their majors. Even as an electrical engineering major in the Honors College (which has its own 24 credit requirements) I would probably be able to do a double degree with something simple like the liberal arts Math and still graduate on time. The only reason it might take you longer than that is if you can’t quite get the at least 150 credits total requirement.
I’m sorry to say I don’t know anything about Binghamton, I never even considered applying there.
