I’ve improved tremendously in math, start around a 550 to know about 700+ (averaging about 0-2 wrong per section). However, I still don’t feel truly confident in my abilities. I don’t know if it’s because sometimes I get like 3 wrong in a section, and that makes me second guess my confidence, or if it’s just genuine fear. I’m confident in my CR skills (except for SC’s because they just have so much damn variability), and writing, but math is another story. I also have to take into account stupid mistakes I may make on the real test, and that brings me down to about a 680. What can I do to get better? I’ve done basically every official SAT math question out there, yet, I’m still not confident.

Help.

OK, I’ll offer two things that you could have picked up here reading other threads:

You say you have done every official question out there. Can I take that to mean that you have done all of the blue book tests, all of the released pdfs and even the on-line class? And that you have thoroughly reviewed any errors? Because if you have done all of that, you have EARNED the right to be confident! It would also explain how you went from 550 to 7000+, an admirable leap.

Another poster recently made a wise suggestion: focus on the test and not the score. I know that sounds zen-like, but really, the idea is a good one. YOU don’t control everything about your score. But you do control your process. Take your time, be happy and confident about all the good work you have done and let the score take care of itself. Even the 680 that you get on a “bad” day will open doors that the 550 would probably not have opened.
