im a current junior and will be applying to competitive colleges as a prospective biomedical engineering major this fall.
im taking AP bio, chem and calc next year; im also doing a summer biology program and next year i will be doing independent research on healthcare opportunities in LDCs.
however, up until this year, i didnt take any advanced science/math classes, my SAT math score was only a 710 and this year i only had an 80 in honors pre calculus. so my fear is that ill get rejected for not demonstrating enough strength in science/math. what else can i do to compensate for this?
also, does it matter what subjects my teacher recs are from? should i do one humanities and one STEM?
thank you in advance for any advice you can give.
