How can I file a complaint against a NON-TENURED professor?

University rule states that a professor MUST submit grades to wolverine access within 72 hours after the final exam (or final assignment if no exam).

My final took place way more than 72 hours ago. I emailed the professor 72 hours after the exam reminding her that it’s been 72 hours after the exam and asked if she could upload our grades…

She wrote back “So? Do you expect all exams to be graded within 3 days? I do have other things to do”

I replied citing the rules and telling her that she’s violating university rule

She wrote back “I dont care what the rule says. It takes longer than 72 hours to grade the exam. If you want you can report me”

Since she totally rubbed me the wrong way, I decide to call her bluff and file a complaint not only for violating the rules but also the blatant disregard of the rules. Who’s in charge of enforcing these rules? Bear in mind she’s NOT TENURED (probably a year or two away) so I intend to pursue this to the fullest and make a big deal about it but i don’t know which department to contact

Should i just forward her email to the office of the school president email address? or should I complain with office of provost (specifically Christina Whitman, Vice Provost for Academic and Faculty Affairs)? I feel that I shouldn’t file my complaint with the IOE department since they all know each other and it’ll probably just be a slap on the wrist if at all… Also, should I follow through by forwarding her email to the daily?

the rule is in this link for those who are curious

lol i was wondering of the same thing. seems like not many profs stick to the rules. it took me a week to get a final grade for one of my class

ur not worried that the prof might get ****ed and give u a failling grade?
she is kinda rude tho

“ur not worried that the prof might get ****ed and give u a failling grade?”

I dare her to do that. All grades are given except for my final, which is all calculations and I totally nailed everything to the decimals (checked solution key)…

“seems like not many profs stick to the rules.”
because most professors are tenured and they dont give a crap because you can’t do anything about them

lol keep us updated on this.

I still need to know how i should file my complaint …

You’re bearcats, you always find a way to do something somehow or other. Come on, step up your game.

Wow I can’t believe you’re actually trying to do this. Good rule of thumb: don’t **** off people who control your grades. I’ve had grades come out over 2 weeks late – I’ve never even inquired about when they’d be up. Just be patient, you can definitely find a better use of your time.

“Good rule of thumb: don’t **** off people who control your grades.”

True for an subjective grading class, not quite true when your grade is now almost 2 standard deviations above the mean pending a numerical final exam that you know you got 100% in. I just want to see the A in wolverineaccess so I know for sure.

and it’s no longer an issue about patience or whatever. If she had been nicer I would totally understand. But she totally rubbed me the wrong way so I am going to turn this into a huge deal. There’s nothing for me to lose and everything for her to lose. (Since she is not tenured).

I really want to know this as well.
BTW very few classes actually submit grades within 72 hours.

Bearcats actually brings up a legitimate problem. Professors can be very bad about submitting grades in a reasonable amount of time. Bearcats. I’d encourage you to complain, but I’d rather it be you complaining than me :). Grades can often be very subjective.

If you complain, they’d probably think you were a little crazy…

Do it bearcats!! Let us know the outcome.

"If you complain, they’d probably think you were a little crazy… "

haha not that they dont already…

I go to Regis University and my art professor, Jennifer Moorhead, stole 8 artworks from me this semester, after I left them for further grading over the summer. I have had many problems with this professor. How do I get these pieces back which I worked so hard on?

I was planning to give these pieces to family members as I am going into the Marine Corps after I graduate a semester early, in two weeks. I want my family to have them as they are pictures I drew of them. These mean a lot to me. I want to go to the next step, as our art department won’t acknowledge my complaint.

I plan to post on more websites to get my name out there. Thank you. I look forward to responses to this issue. My email is holm115@regis.edu

Thank you,
Ashley N. Holm

lol @Bearcats

i love you, I am in high school and I can not tell you how many teachers get out of line, they forget who’s taxes pay their salary.

But ya, you should forward the email to the president of the specific school

^Yea I’m sure he’s still pursuing this.

Awe… what happened? I gotta know how the story ends
