How can I fix 2 Bs I got in an honors class?

I got a B every quarter in both Algebra 1 Honors and Algebra 2 Honors, is there anyway I can use grades recovery or something to erase them from my high school transcript and make it an A? I took these courses when I was in middle school and I had a horrible teacher so I struggled in the subject.

Just relax. Math is hard and you did well taking Algebra II in middle school. If you get all As going forward you will show improvement.

If you took them in middle school, most colleges won’t even consider them - even if your school lists them on your transcript, and includes them in your GPA, many colleges will recalculate your GPA using their own rules, excluding those classes. Some even exclude the entire freshman year.

I agree with the two above posts, but would also point out that this is a completely school specific question. None of us have any idea what your particular school’s policies are around this. Ask your guidance counselor.

Congrats… Algebra 2 in middle school is quite the achievement! Colleges won’t care about your middle school grades, however.

Even if you had those Bs in Honors Algebra in high school they would not be a problem. Your overall record is what will matter.

It’s likely you can’t.

Doubtful. And if I were an AO, I would look in askance of a HS that allowed grade recovery for a B.

Anyway, as others said, even is high school grades from MS classes are included in the HS GPA, AOs will not focus on them. And even if you had a B or 32 in HS, that will not be the reason a college rejects you. Good luck.

You can’t “fix” this. You took the courses, you got the grades.

I doubt anyone will care about middle school grades, but if they do, they do. It’s over and done with.

Can you retake the courses as a freshman in high school or have you moved on to higher math? My daughter got an A in algebra in 8th grade but didn’t feel she knew the material very well. We moved to another school for her freshman year and she took algebra I (honors). Best decision ever. She felt she really learned the material. It did put her ‘behind’ in the math sequence as far as College Confidential standards as she then didn’t take calc in high school, but it was no problem as she took it as a freshman in college. She’s now an engineer.
