How can I fix this?

This a long thread and requires lots of reading, but bear with me.

For the first 3 years in High School, I attended Elizabeth High School. Elizabeth High School was a very, very large school. It had over 5,200 students making it the largest high school in the US. It was so large that the school had eight different buildings (or campuses). Each student of Elizabeth High School belonged to one of those buildings (or campuses), and did not have classes in any other building (or campus). I was in the Halsey campus of Elizabeth High School.

Elizabeth High School had been called “Elizabeth High School” for over 35 years.

This summer, the board of education decided to split up the very large Elizabeth High School. Each building (or campus) is now it’s own high school. So instead of one large school, there is now eight. Each of the eight schools have a different gimmick. One is an arts school, one is a technology school, one is a ROTC school, etc. Students had to chose which school they wanted attend. I chose the John E. Dwyer Technology Academy (that’s the full name of the technology school) because I wanted to pursue a career in Computer Science.

So after being in “Elizabeth High School” for 3 years, and now finishing up High School in the “John E. Dwyer Technology Academy”.

Despite the board of ed saying that Elizabeth High School is now split up into eight different academies, not much has changed. There is still a sign in front of my school that says “Elizabeth High School”. When I took the SATs, I had to write down the old Elizabeth High School CEEB code. Virtually no organizations recognize the name change. Nothing really changed.

I applied to the University of Mississippi today. On the online application, I wrote down that I attend Elizabeth High School. Then I submitted it after reading a page that I could not edit anything after it was submitted, and that any false information will result in me not getting in.

So now I’m freaking out because I think I should have written down my current high school as the John E. Dwyer Technology Academy. Unfortunately, I already paid the $50 application fee and cannot change anything.

How can I fix this? Do I contact the admissions office? Do you think they will forgive my possible lapse?

Give them a call when they’re open again (Jan. 4 for most schools, but check their website). It’ll be fine; people make little errors on their apps all the time.

Don’t worry! I submitted the wrong social security number on two of my applications -_-’ People make tiny errors all the time and admission officers (I’m sure) are use to it.
