I have a low GPA. I expect that it will be around a 3 by the time I apply. Being a strong INTP, I have no extra-curricular activities except for playing the piano, at which I actually have concert level talent but not concert level experience. I have been playing for less than three years and I am about halfway through this piece and doing very well: YouTube - (HQ) Transcendental Etude No.12, Chasse-neige (Berezovsky)

I also bring tears to people’s eyes with interpretations of romantic pieces.

I also won top honors in last year’s art class, in which I was in competition against about 120 other students at my school. I got the award these two pieces, along with the fact that I talked to the teacher about my works:

This is a copy of a Caravaggio painting.

For the record, this was my first painting since being in an elementary school art class.

I am known as the best in the class at physics. I actually take time to experiment with equations to see what I am capable of solving. I am in AP Physics B and it’s my favorite class this year, with AP Calculus AB running second.

I have plans to go to Columbia, NYU or another renowned institution for graduate school. I have taken a strong interest in small New England research institutions because they will allow a more introverted type like me to get to know professors well. I prefer the northeast because I find it beautiful and if I somehow had an issue or change in plans that prevented me from getting into grad school, I would like to end up there.

My GPA over the past 3 years is terrible. I am taking four classes this year (which I now consider a mistake), but I am pushing to end this semester with an unweighted GPA of 4.0, which is actually probable. I did hear about a girl in a nearby high school getting accepted to Brown by basically doing that.

My test scores aren’t the greatest right now either. However, I am taking the ACT once more and am studying it carefully, instead of not at all. I expect to get over 32 this time. I am doing research on writing outstanding application essays. I know that colleges are interested in interest itself.

If I had an act score above the the high range for the schools at which I apply to and have a GPA of 4.0 this semester and my application oozed with my passion for the sciences and arts as well as this proof of my ability at them, what would my chances be of getting into:

Franklin and Marshall College
Franklin & Marshall

Dickinson College
Dickinson College

Fallbacks:

University of Minnesota
University of Minnesota

University of Arizona (in state)
The University of Arizona, Tucson Arizona

This is a plea for help. I put up as much info about myself as possible so I can get as much help as possible. My end goal is to be a well known researcher and/or professor of physics and to live somewhere that I love. Also, a few fallbacks like smaller schools that offer a good physics program that are easier to get into would be greatly appreciated.
