<p>I’m a junior at a competitive public school in California; currently, my top choice is UC Berkeley, followed by the other UCs. Up until mid-Sophomore year I was dead-set on becoming an artist and didn’t take very challenging courses. </p>
<p>UW GPA: 3.8
W GPA: 4.1
W GPA (w/Honors) : 4.4
These stats should improve. 4.3 Weighted (w/out Honors) is a realistic estimate. </p>
<p>SAT I : 2190 (710 M, 720 CR, 760 W) → I will probably retake this in the spring.
Ranking is not published by the school but I am most likely in the top 10% of about 400 students. </p>

<p>Extracurricular Activities / Awards, etc :
Comm Service : Science Museum (60 hr), local Hospital (150 hr)
- Peer Tutor for Humanities / English - 4 hours a week, very enjoyable
- Volunteer at local Art Museum - I LOVE this place.
- Peer Counselor - Work directly with Counseling Department and the student body. Also tutor math through the smaller Tutoring Department.
- Art - I’m not sure if this is a formal EC, but it something I am very passionate about. I will probably enter some art-based contests to reinforce this as an interest, but I’m not sure how much colleges care, as I am not majoring in art. However, I love science because I see the same underlying structures in both science in art with visualization.
- I have been to some conferences as a guest on ‘scholarship’ to attend, via application - National Environmental Health Conference, AREA Conference (relating to Scientific Tech), Biotechnology-related Conference, etc.
- Debate Club for 2 Years (though this is more minor, amateur debating and I’m not sure if it’s worth noting).
- French Club for 2 years (baguettes!)
- Science Olympiad for Soph Year. Did not find it rewarding.
- Student Senate for 2 years.
- I am a student body representative on a school board that plans out part of the school budget. 2 school-year term.
- Awards : Student Recognition in AP Environmental Sci and AP Bio, probably because I ask a lot of questions and do quasi-experiments outside of class.</p>
