How can I improve my SAT scores?

<p>I’m currently a Junior and want some tips to improve my reading and writing scores. I received an 1820 on the SAT overall, 760 Math, 520 Reading, and 540 Writing (9 essay). I’m planning to apply to IVY Leagues like Cornell or UPENN and need to improve my score. I am planning to retake the SAT on August/September. I want to improve my score to AT LEAST a 2000. </p>

<p>You can’t take it in August, and I don’t know if it was ever administered in September. The first administration is usually in early October.</p>

<p>I’ve heard that Writing is the easiest to improve. Get a prep book or look at help online. Practice practice practice.</p>

<p>Get a book that not only gives you generic advice, but one that delves into the structure and patterns of the Critical Reading Section and the Writing Section. i.e. Everything in Critical Reading that is the correct answer is just a restatement of the text, for Writing recognizing errors, style doesn’t matter but in Improving sentences and paragraphs it does, etc…</p>
