I have to take my SAT next week Saturday, so I could get my new score to change
for my early admissions for Chapel Hill, which ends on October 15. So, what should I do to
better my score in such a short notice
because I’m really worried that my standardizetest score may limit me to get accepted to
Chapel Hill or any other university.
Where are your shortcomings? Practice exam, practice exam, practice exam. Try to identify the type of questions that give you problems. For me (many years ago), it was those 2/3 of this group are women and 3/4 of this other group are men, so who gets the corner office. Learn how to answer the ones that give you fits. If it’s the ones with math formulas, etch them into your brain. The circumference of a circle is __; the area of a circle is . There’s not much you can do about writing in this time frame. The reading/etc. questions fall into categories as well: find the error; choose the best sentence; etc. Try to identify where you’re not getting points and work on those areas.
I did bad on the reading and writing how can I improve on it?
These two threads might have some useful tips:

The time is short and you say your performed poorly in both writing and reading. I would look specifically at practice tests in those two areas to see if you can pinpoint your difficulties and work in improving those areas specifically. Also look at test taking strategies, time management, controlling negative emotions and so on. I think a better grasp of these skills will stand you in better stead then trying to cram odd bits of information derived on sample questions in the brief period before the next test.
In terms of grammar and your second post, bad is the incorrect word.
If you are already concerned about the impact of poor performance on standardized testing on college admissions generally, then you may not be in a position to expect early admissions to UNC. Your time might be better used scheduling a later exam and preparing for it with prep materials and tutoring. Indeed, standardized testing is not a very successful if you are afraid you will need a scoring miracle.
I’m guessing you did “poorly” on reading and writing. The point that was made above about your word choice is important bc it takes a lot of reading and practice to move those scores. You may not improve at all.
Schedule again and practice!! If you get deferred EA, you may have a better score to show them in January!
You can for sure improve writing in 3 - 5 days.

in that order then take practice writing sections and review what you got wrong and what you were iffy on. Google the question if you’re unsure why the answer is correct and you’ll find likely find a concise answer from pwnthesat or this forum, if you can’t then make a topic. Hope this helps
“ownthesat” maybe? Good tips, @IneffableMind
No it’s actually pwnthesat lol. It’s a guy who got a 2400 a few years back and runs a Q&A for all sat problems, he also wrote a great math guide called own the sat math guide. In video game slang, pwn roughly translates to completely own.
