Hello, I am in a situation in which neither of my parents will contribute to my education, one of them because it would not be possible, and the other, despite making a six figure salary, because he does not want too (they are divorced.) How should I go abut paying for college when I get to that point in my life. Thank you!
Ok…I see that you’re a freshman, so you have time. (BTW…I answered a Q in your other thread, so please read it).
You need to get the BEST grades and BEST ACT or SAT scores that you can while in HS.
What state do you live in?
You may have to focus on schools that are FAFSA only, but will give strong aid…either merit based or need based.
Also…it may help if you improve your relationship with your dad so that he may be more motivated to help pay.
Also…when you can, start working part time during the school year and full time in summers and save your money in a 529 acct
OP, be nice to your parents, they could change their minds when you ready to apply for college!
Earn a full ride merit scholarship. Here are some lists. They may change over the next few years, but they can give you an idea of what kind of grades and test scores you need to aim for.
