I am not that proficient in the mathematics area, I took the May SAT and scored 430 in Math
. I’ve been taking practice tests since May and I’ve raised my math score about 100 pts , my practice test scores are generally; 760-800 CR, 700-770 W, 500-530 M. Anybody know anything I can do to bring my math score up quickly for the June Sat ??? I wanna go to a good college!!!

strategies…quick tips??? plz

Well, seeing that you are rather limited in time, don’t panic. That’s the worst thing to do

For now, do more practice tests and realize what the problems are asking you.

Also if possible find out why are you are missing those problems. Restudy then and figure out why you missed them to make sure you won’t miss those same problems on the real thing. I’m not sure what to say.

Good luck

hey im in the same sort of predicament- can anybody give me a SUREFIre way to do the types of problems where its like “if h houses can be painted in d days, in how many hours can h houses be painted?” i am having a LOT of trouble wiht those

Bumpppppppp

Give me some numbers.

Here, I’ll make up my own.

If 5 houses can be painted in 2 days, in how many hours can 6 houses be painted?

y=kx

(5)=k(2)
k=2.5 houses/day

6=2.5x
x=6/2.5=2.4 days=57.6 hours

The harder types of these problems are “if 5 men work together for a 6 hours to build 3 houses, then how many houses can 2 men build in 7 hours?”

To do these:

3=k(6)(5)
3=30k
k=1/10

y=(1/10)(2)(7)
y=14/10=1.4 houses

Remember proportionality, if one variable increasing causes the other to go up then its in the form y=kx. If the increasing of one variable causes the other to go down, then the form is y=k/x
