It seems like the hardest part of writing a personal statement is trying to get in under the character/word limit. Anyways, I began writing my personal statement thinking there was a 500 word limit, but there’s actually a 500 character limit. I already cut down a lot, and now im stuck at a wall because i dont know where I could cut anymore down. Right now its at 909 characters. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you

Q: Please tell us what led you to select both your anticipated academic area(s) of study and the NYU school / college / program or the Abu Dhabi campus. What interests you most about your intended discipline? Mention any extracurricular or non-school-related activities or experiences that demonstrate your interest.

A: Growing up, I participated in a variety of sports such as swimming, water polo, basketball, tennis, track, and badminton. And during 11th and 12th grade, I was part of the business staff for our schools yearbook. At first, business management was a possible academic choice that I wanted to pursue, but as I learned more, it seemed too tedious for me. I wanted a concentration in business management that was exciting and action packed. So as I was exploring my academic options at NYU, I came across the Preston Robert Tisch Center, and the B.S. degree in sports management at SCPS. What interests me most about the sports management program, is that I get to combine my curiosity about management, with my passion for sports. And, with the huge internship opportunities the city of New York and NYU offers for university students, it would provide a great start for pursuing a career in sports management.
