This is a thread asking current NYU LSP(preferably)/or other students or alumnis for their tips to succeeding at NYU.

Is there anything you wished you had done differently?

What clubs/organizations/internships would you have joined?

What dorm would you have chosen?

Would you have done anything during the summer to get a headstart?

Those are just a few sample questions that I hope you would help answer. Feel free to add in more!

If you get a really good GPA in your 1st semester at NYU, you can easily transfer into another school (that you may actually wanted to go into). Join a club that you’re really passionate about and stick with it to get a leadership position (something I wish I had done, but didn’t). I joined Greek life right away because I had always wanted to be in a sorority, but I realized that Greek life actually took up a lot of time and my grades were suffering from that. I liked Rubin because it was a good value for my money (I had a low cost dorm), but if I could’ve afforded it, I would’ve chosen Hayden or Goddard. Get an internship this summer, and get an internship every summer of college, good god. Internship applying should start in the middle of the spring semester, although right after winter break ends would be good too so you don’t get distracted by midterms.

@jackNYU2018 My friend transferred out of LSP with at least a 3.8, which I think is the general GPA range to get into Stern. My other friend transferred out of CAS with ~3.75, although it was a bit risky.
