How can I tell my parents I lied about my job?

<p>You’ll want them to understand that you know you screwed up by lying. Consider asking for the extra money as a loan from them, to be paid back after college. (DD has a $5000 loan like that with us. She pays back $100/month.) That way they’ll know you do have some skin in the game. They may or may not want to go the loan route… but consider giving the them option.</p>

start by saying, “I have a serious confession to make to you.” They will fear that it is something worse, so they will be a bit relieved when they hear what the problem really is.
