<p>So I’m guessing personality isn’t weighed as much at Dartmuth, either?</p>
<p>Because Dartmouth is just that awesome :). Haha they have the peer rec to help them with personality. And it makes your common app essay that much more important.</p>
<p>because they want people to get a life outside of writing supplementary essays for the entire first half of their senior year! </p>
<p>Trust me, you guys, you will like Dart’s decision. And as spunaugle said, they have the peer rec to help out if they want to see more about your personality. Also, Selectum, most supplementary essays are usually like “Why this college” essays anyways, which I don’t think help to reveal the writer’s personality that much. If you like personality-weighed essays, try the Stanford app – you’ll have not just one or two but THREE supplementary essays to worry over! :D</p>
<p>I’m confused, though. On the common app it says that the Dartmouth supplement is “not yet available”. Is this referring to the peer evaluation, because that is available on the Dartmouth website.</p>
<p>The Dartmouth supplement on the common app is more of a pre-application info form. It’ll take a whole whopping 5 to 10 minutes to complete. It also has a link to the peer rec, which has to be printed and mailed into the admissions office (no electronic option avalible for it

<p>Yup. So I suppose you could mail it in the old-fashioned way. But the online version should be going up very soon.</p>
<p>Two reasons in my opinion:</p>
<p>1) Dartmouth might have replaced the supplemental essay with the peer evaluation which might give them a better insight of the candidate.</p>
<p>2) Dartmouth’s adcom might be reluctant to read two essays, so they chose to focus entirely on the CommonApp essay. </p>
<p>I also think one essay is enough because essay topics are usually same…mostly asking about what can you do for our community…bla bla bla…where a candidate may write false things and then tell that he’ll do this and that…which I think is very vague.</p>
<p>Seriously, you shouldn’t be complaining…when I think about all the essays I had to write, I get chills. Just be relieved.</p>
