<p>My niece received a merit scholarship ($58K over four years), plus an additional $3.5k grants for a summer program/internship. We’re still waiting on the financial aid package in late March but I"m curious if the summer grant is unusual or more common. Thoughts?</p>
<p>I was offered one as a part of a full-ride merit scholarship for a large state school-- it seems to be a relatively easy way to add to the draw of the school/program.</p>
