Hey there! I am really unsure about how competitive I am as a student, and I want to know if I’d be able to get into a mid-selective school (like NYU). Any help is much appreciated.

GPA (weighted): 3.8 ACT composite: 28 (essay portion: 9 out of 12)

Coarse load (over the whole four years):

English: 2 honors, 2 IB HL (having taken the AP English lit and comp test)

Math: 3 honors, 2 AP (double-block AP Calc period)

Social Sciences: 4 AP (world history, us history, human geo, euro)

Sciences: 2 honors, 1 AP, 1 IB HL (AP and IB Biology)

Language: 3 regular, 1 honor (my school only offers one honor)

Misc: 3 AP (studio art, art history, US government), 2 IB (Theory of Knowledge, Visual Arts HL), 11 useless credit fillers (2 PE classes, drivers ed, aerobics, health, painting, ceramics, child development, musical theater, office assistant [x2])

AP classes and tests: 11/ Honors: 8 / IB classes and tests: 6

What should I do to increase my competitiveness? I’m considering dropping my language next year and substituting for another AP class or taking another IB class. Or am I doing A-OK?
