How competitive are these schools? And what would it take to get into them?

John Hopkins
Carnegie Mellon
Cornell
Northwestern
RPI

What would you say would be good stats to get into these some of these schools? What would be a reach to get into these schools?

Rank in the top decile of your graduating class.
Score at least in the 98th, ideally in the 99th, percentile on the SAT.

Those are all very competitive schools (with RPI being the least selective I think). You'd need to be a full-package, extremely committed student, and even then they're reaches for most people.

For Cornell, the SAT mid range is 1300-1500. But, it depends on the particular school at Cornell. For Arts and Sciences and Engineering, the SATs are somewhat higher.

Well, there goes that.
