I applied to Aerospace and Electrical recently.
I always wanted to do ChemE, but after spending time here, I realized that ChemE extremely competitive.
However, I am not sure how competitive it is in school rank, sat score wise.
My current SAT scores that I submitted is 2100 660CR 770M 670W
But I am sure I scored 2200-2300 on the Oct SAT.
4.08 WGPA, 3.9 UWGPA
I am not in top10, and my high school doesn’t rank.
Assuming I scored between 2200-2300, do you guys think I have a “generally safe chance” for Chem E?
You definitely have a shot at chemE but i wouldn’t say that it’s a “safe” choice. You can never be sure, but your chances look really good.
ChemE is a very competitive major. There were many highly qualified auto-admits in the Class of 2019 who did not get into ChemE. Choose your back-up major carefully because you may get it.
@FloMoMom Do you know the general SAT scores of the rejected Auto-Admit applicants? I just have no specific idea of how competitive it is. Currently I applied for Aerospace and Electrical, but I really want Chemical.
@Messipass I wouldn’t consider test scores the deciding factor at Cockrell. I knew an auto-admit who applied to Cockrell last year with a 36 on his ACT and he got rejected.
@aspiringsenior05 Damn,I guess I’ll just stick with AerospaceE and ElectricalE
