Thanks for taking the time to look this over. I think that I have a good shot at getting accepted, but do you think I have a decent chance at the Cornelius Vanderbilt Scholarship? Am I eligible for any other scholarships?

standard activities and stuff like that

No…but seriously. You can get into the top Ivies.

believe it or not, it is not just about rank, maybe she likes Vandy’s social atmosphere, location, weather, professor friendliness, or a number of the other benefits Vandy has to offer.

Having a resume like that and not going to Harvard is like slapping God in the face.

honestly, id say having a resume like that would definitely make u a top student at vandy, but there’s nothing wrong with that. i got into cornell, stanford, and penn, but chose vandy over them for several reasons – moreover, some people just don’t like the ivies - the environment, the people that go there, etc. thats what steered me clear of even bothering to submit an app to harvard, yale, princeton, and the like.

to the OP, i think u have a very good chance of getting the CV scholarship or at least you will get some sort of merit scholarship without a doubt.

you stand an excellent chance. every part of your app does. scores, activities, and your cultural background (vandy is recuiting diversity). I’m willing to place a bet that you’d get it or another full tuition scholarship.

dirthog is right, or maybe the OP just doesn’t feel like paying for his undergrad tuition :)
