How competitive is the Half-Century Trojan Scholarship?

Is this one of those things where if you apply and get in you just get the scholarship, or are there a very limited number and so you have to face competition? Anyone know anything about it? Anyone else apply for it?

EDIT: I just saw on the website that they only give out 2-3. Anyone know how they decide who gets them? Is it merit based?

It appears that it is more like the criteria for admission:

So basically a well rounded individual. Everybody who gets into USC reaches a first level for this criteria, and I would assume the people who get this scholarship are the best of those admitted.

What did you get on your SAT/ACT?
How are your ECs?

The SAT was a 2300 (800 M, 730 CR, 770 W), I had a good number of ECs I’ve done for a while (mostly drama, Science Olympiad, etc.) but nothing singularly outstanding, like some big competition or anything like that.

More what I’m wondering though is if anyone has any experience with how many people apply for the apparently very small number of scholarships (it’s also not even that big a scholarship, I’m not sure why they don’t give more).

Also, I assume it doesn’t, but would having a prestigious alum as the relation help a candidate at all? I would be surprised if anyone on this bored knows enough about the scholarship to answer a question like that, but if anyone can it would be much appreciated. :)
