I don’t have much in terms of EC because I like the stuff I do and am not a activity grub that’s a member of every activity in school just to attract colleges and what not.

Awards:
National Merit commended (212/240)
AMC School Winner
AP Scholar
Honor Role
Rennaisance Gold Card winner

Again, not a heck of a lot in terms of awards. I might have some more but those are the main ones.

Some other stuff:
I’m pretty imbalanced in my school GPA. I’ve never gotten anything below an A- in sciences or math, but my biggest weakness have been Spanish and other humanity classes. I’ve got a strong recommendation from my physics teacher and a decent one from my math teacher, and a decent one from my guidance couselor. I’m applying to a lot of accelerated BS/MD programs and Cornell and UPenn. How am I looking overall? Honesty is really appreciated!

your rank seems to be your weakest area…
UPenn Wharton is a long shot.

its the rank.

what are u talking about? that rank is awsome if colleges know your school.
srsly, dont bother to care about a list of activities that matches the latest harry potter book in length. screw that. just have a few that rele made an impact on ur life. nothing is a long shot. if you did upenn early, you have a strong change of getting in. these people who are skeptics just dont have the balls to apply to a good school

I really don’t understand how 32/345 could be a bad rank. Being in the top 50 of your school puts you in a fine mark as long as you have stellar SAT scores and GPA.

Funny thing about my school (Penncrest High School), I don’t know how good it is. Apparently we have a good repo with Penn (8 kids got in from the class of 2007, but they were insanely competitive). It’s ranked in the 75% in PA, but we have a very strong academic teams (kids I know have won many medals in the Science Olympiad Nationals). I’m not that competitive, but thanks for the support.

75%? okay, that’s pretty bad
and rank is one of the most important factors
i don’t know what unholy_ender and sAxsKy are talking about. of course top 50 is impressive, but we need to look at the whole class number, and you are barely top 10%.
and penn gets applicants from all over the world with spectacular stats, so you really gotta appeal with your ecs. and honestly, with what you wrote above, penn, especially wharton, is a very long shot. sorry if i’m being brutal but i’m giving my honest answer as you requested.

good chance at Cornell, UPenn ehhh I don’t know borderline I would say

that’s what I figured.
