How did my college interview go.....?

I did an interview for a college that puts a lot of emphasis on interviews. For the most part, my interview went pretty well

But…there were a 3 questions I was a little stuck on. The answers came out okay, but it seemed as if I was unsure about myself when I answered them or stopped short because I couldn’t elaborate on it more… When I answered those 3 questions/things he asked me to clarify, I think I showed in my face that I wasn’t confident in those answers and it took me some time to think about them before I could answer them. This was the beginning of the interview

Everything else went quite smoothly, and I explained the rest of the questions clearly and in depth and the guy seemed interested. The interview took half an hour, so there was definitely more than just three questions.

In the end, he did tell me that he thought the interview went well and that I am a great person, but had 1 piece of advice: to have a more professional subject title in my email (he said it didn’t bother him, but he just wanted to let me know in the future when I try to get a job or something like that)

So did my interview actually go well, or did he just say that to make me feel better?

bump…?

How can any of us know how your interview went? If the interviewer gave you a compliment, accept it and move on. If yiu think the interview went well, it probably did. If you felt it was not great, it probably wasn’t. Interviews rarely decide admittance so there is no use fretting over it. Interviews matter the most if it’s truly terrible, or truly spectacular. Obviously those situations don’t occur often. They know you are nervous, and if you had been cocky and overly-confident, you might have come across as arrogant. You are fine. Find better things to focus on.

Agree with above. None of us was there but if the interviewer said it went well, then assume it did. Move on.

@Lindagaf ah okay thank you for the feedback, it was a little more reassuring.
I think it was a little different though, because the college I applied for puts way more emphasis on interviews than other colleges that do interviews
