Is it because they got it from css?</p>
<p>It’s a possibility that they got it off of an ACT/SAT or AP test. All three of those have an option to put your SSN on there to make it easier to get all of your test scores into a single file I guess. But if you haven’t sent them a copy of your test scores that have it on there and you haven’t explicitly given it to them then I have no idea how they would get it. </p>

<p>At least one of my son’s applications had a forboding “IF YOU DON’T GIVE YOUR SS NUMBER HERE, YOU MIGHT NOT GET FA!!!”. So he gave it. Even though it is obviously asked for on the FA forms themselves.</p>
