How did you get into Berkeley?

Just wondering what are the profiles of those who got into Berkeley.

I hear this question a lot, and the easiest way is to simply look at the profiles of those who were accepted last year. After a long dig (the search function isn’t working properly) I finally found it. Enjoy:

4.32 UC GPA, 2270 SAT, 33 ACT, ASB president, AP scholar, Students for a clean environmetn club president

I applied.

BADUMCHA.

He made a funny!

WOW SIR, you might be qualified to become a MacArthur
Fellow!

If only there was a MacArthur Fellows program from funny.

I copied the homework of my classmates, cheating on tests, and got someone else to take my SATs

hahaha, I studied my rear end off, that’s how!

Ahhh!! This is seriously killing me. I already got admitted to 5 out of 6 CSU’s I applied to for backup. The UC admissions decisions are just…ahhh… =(

No offense… but that’s why they are CSUs. If you got a 3.0 GPA you’re basically in.

How can you convert your GPA into a “UC” GPA?

Look at the UC application web site which defines the courses that are accepted in the categories a-g. Only approved classes are counted. Only classes in the Soph and Junior years are used to calculate GPA.

Then, record the letter grades but eliminate any + or - to sum up the points: A=4, B=3 . . .

Add 1 point for every approved AP class semester in those two years, up to a maximum of 8 semester points.

Divide that sum by the number of approved class semesters.

im pretty sure being local helped in my case
