How Did You React to Seeing: "You are Admitted...Congratulations!"

This is such an amazing thread. Can’t wait till senior year. :)

yeah i started to jump around for like 10 min straight, i was dead tired but i could not stop smiling. Even now, which is like four weeks from when i got in, i am pumped and cant stop smiling.

I never imagined getting into my #1 choice but I DID AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

im still excited. wish senior year and summer would just die already

I was accepted at Columbia early decision in December. I was excited to get in with a 3.5 GPA and 1300 on my SATs (620 Math and 680 English). I was 42nd in a class of 290. I had some really good extra curricular activities (speech, debate and drama).

It seems like only yesterday, but it was December 1976. Back in the days when everyone didn’t prep for 6 months to take the SAT.

Those were the days…

college better be worth all this *****

I was deferred from my first choice ED and all of my EA schools were safeties, although when I recieved a 15K scholarship from St. Joseph’s and got into their honors program, I kind of freaked out. I called my uncle because that’s his alma mater. It was pretty exciting.

American- I got the email when I was in school and I was kind of caught off guard. I was more excited when I got my official letter that said I recieved an 18K scholarship.
Smith- I was on my computer and not expecting them to post my decision until 6. It was 4 and I logged in just to make sure I could and there was a link that said “your decision” or something like that. I was pretty nervous. I clicked on it and just saw “congratulations” and I was pretty speechless, especially because I wasn’t expecting it.
Mount Holyoke- I recieved a likely letter a few weeks before decisions were posted, so it was kind of anti-climactic when I got my online decision, but it was exciting to kind out I recieved their leadership scholarship for 20K!
Villanova- I just smiled and then called my aunt because that’s where she went.
Bryn Mawr- Definately nerve-racking. I recieved one of their “likely emails,” but I just really wanted to see that I was officially accepted. Online decisions were posted and it took forever to log in. So nerve-racking!! I was accepted though, and I’m attending. :)

I thundered down the stairs and embraced my parents.

Obligatory bump.

I ran into my parents’ room, calmly told them I had been accepted to Stanford, and then proceeded to cry tears of happiness. And then I started jumping up and down with excitement. LOL

I completely lost it after that! ;)

I found out when i was at work. Considering ive been checking the website about 5 times everyday for the past couple week, i wasn’t sure if i was reading it right. First came happiness, then confusion whether they made a mistake. After all settled, I let out a little victory yelp/battle cry and had to go about my work. Couldn’t help but walk around with a smile on my face which people stared at me like i was ■■■■■■■■…

I wasn’t surprised since it was just a state school, but I was grinning and immediately told my parents.

I was like, “oh yeah, that’s not too surprising.” I didn’t really apply anywhere that I couldn’t get into.

I blinked and stared at the computer screen for five minutes, then jumped up and ran out to my parents and screamed “I got into UF!”

It was a very exciting moment. =]

i cried

:)

it was my dream!

We were on the way to get oil change for the car but first checked the mail that Saturday morning. That was my first acceptance letter. While trying to look cool (having pledged to be a true cool teen ever to be moved by anything), my jaw fell open, seeing my mom lose it. Her actions confirmed that she totally lost it when all she could say was “my son made it to college!” instead of “can I have the oil changed and the wipers too?” to the guy at the lube station. He had a look of pity for each of us for different reasons. She made it worse by blurting out that I was born on that campus. The guy scrambled and our car had one of the fastest oil changes in its 100000 miles history.

I got my letter from Plan II a couple of minutes ago and I instantly screamed upon seeing “I am delighted…” yeah, I was outside and my neighbor was holding her baby, and they both looked at me in fear and the baby started crying. XD

And when I called my mom I was screaming and crying too, and my mom was like, “OH MY GOD WHO KILLED YOU DDD:” hahahaha SO HAPPY DELIRIOUS EXCITED

F***ing LOL…just sitting in your chair, check your email, then stand up and start doing the “Jump On It” dance. Hahahaha

Jizzed in my pants.

wait!!! Duke gives out likely letters? Do you remember what date you received yours?

^^It’s perfectly normal, nothing wrong with you
