How did Zuckerberg do it?

How did Zuckerberg do it?

The questions is: How do you get by with the required core curriculum if you got other stuff going on for you? Obviously Zuckerberg eventually dropped out and is a very extreme example, but I still have the same question.

Most Ivy Legue students will be very academically driven and try to be very good, but it interests me to know if there also are the “slackers”/ people with other interests out there who don’t read all the books on the reading list but perhaps one and a couple of summaries; people who do the minimum assignments and perhaps miss a few.

With such an approach, is it still possible to get satisfactory grades (above D) ? I wonder if anybody knows of a living example of this? You won’t be getting straight As but once your in the Ivy Legue I don’t think your grades are that important anymore - as long as you don’t totally mess up.

If that is your plan and you are admitted, then I would say the admissions committee blew it because you would be taking the place of someone who knows better how to capitalize on the opportunities in their life.

A lot more people skip readings than you think, even at elite colleges. Granted, it sounds like you’re talking about something more extreme than just skipping readings, but still, there will be slackers anywhere.

Good luck getting a job or going to grad school after not “totally messing up.”

Edit: And yes, it is totally possible to get satisfactory grades with minimal work, depending on which courses you take, of course.
