How difficult are Stern freshman courses?

I’m trying to choose a school and I’ve got it narrowed down to UT McCombs or NYU Stern. I’ve made so many pros/cons lists, and I’ve basically decided that the only thing keeping me from choosing Stern is that I’m wary of the freshman workload. Based on the credits that I’ll be transferring and what current McCombs students have told me, I’ll probably have an easier time at UT. Of course I’ll be sacrificing all the opportunities that come along with Stern if I do choose to go to UT. So I was wondering if anyone could give me an idea of how difficult Stern freshmen have it? Thanks in advance, you guys. :)

Most of the freshman courses for Stern students are MAP courses taken at CAS, so I don’t think it’s too difficult.

Ohboi has it right. The majority of freshmen take MAP courses like natural science, literature, writing, etc. Sometimes they will schedule a few stern core courses like statistics but overall it’s not bad. Although writing the essay can be kind of heavy. Is there any particular reason you are comparing freshman year workloads? I’d imagine Stern is going to be harder overall.

Thank you for your help!

I’m wondering because the past four years in high school was just very stressful, and I’m worried about not being able to handle things. If my GPA slips and such, then that will hinder me in future endeavors, so I’d rather not have that happen…

I know Stern is probably more stressful. The culture and environment at UT vs. NYU are completely different, but I just wanted an estimate of just how much more difficult.
